These are deciduous shrubs that produce large, showy orange-red flowers from late spring and into summer. They are then followed by the sweet, red fruit that are virtually seedless. They are self-fertile and may be harvested in late autumn to early winter. Plant in a sheltered, sunny position where soils are fertile and free-draining. May be given a light prune to encourage new growth. Frost hardy.
